CODE OF CONDUCT
1. OUR PLEDGE
We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in JSONERS.DEV a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community focused on learning and collaboration in JSON development.
2. OUR STANDARDS
2.1 Positive Behavior
Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment include:
- Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people
- Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
- Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
- Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes
- Focusing on what is best for the overall community
- Showing patience with beginners and those learning new concepts
- Celebrating others' achievements and contributions
2.2 Unacceptable Behavior
Examples of unacceptable behavior include:
- The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances
- Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
- Public or private harassment of any kind
- Publishing others' private information without explicit permission
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any unacceptable behavior
- Sustained disruption of community events or discussions
- Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
3. COMMUNITY RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 All Community Members
- Treat everyone with respect and dignity
- Be inclusive in language and actions
- Listen actively and engage constructively
- Help create a welcoming environment for newcomers
- Report violations of this Code of Conduct
- Support community members who experience harassment
3.2 Experienced Community Members
- Mentor and guide new developers
- Model positive behavior and communication
- Share knowledge generously and patiently
- Provide constructive feedback on JSON examples
- Help resolve conflicts and misunderstandings
3.3 Community Leaders and Moderators
- Clarify and enforce standards of acceptable behavior
- Take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to violations
- Remove, edit, or reject content that violates this Code of Conduct
- Communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate
- Foster an inclusive and welcoming community culture
4. SCOPE AND APPLICATION
4.1 Platform Coverage
This Code of Conduct applies to all JSONERS.DEV spaces, including:
- JSON document sharing and collaboration
- Comments and discussions on shared content
- Real-time collaboration sessions
- Voice chat communications
- User profiles and public information
- Private messages and direct communications
4.2 External Representation
This Code of Conduct also applies when an individual is officially representing the JSONERS.DEV community in public spaces, such as social media, conferences, or other online/offline events.
5. INCLUSIVE LANGUAGE

- Avoid slang or idioms that may not translate across cultures

- Avoid gatekeeping language or elitist attitudes
- Welcome questions and encourage learning
- Provide context and background when sharing complex examples
- Use constructive language when suggesting improvements

8. CONFLICT RESOLUTION

- Be willing to apologize and learn from mistakes
8.2 De-escalation

9. ENFORCEMENT
9.1 Reporting Violations
Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to the community leaders responsible for enforcement at:

- All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly
- Community leaders will respect the privacy and security of reporters
- Appropriate action will be taken based on the severity of violations
- Follow-up will be provided to both reporters and accused parties
9.3 Enforcement Guidelines
Community leaders will follow these guidelines when determining consequences:
Level 1: Correction
- Private written warning explaining the violation
- Request for public apology when appropriate
- Guidance on acceptable behavior
Level 2: Warning
- Written warning with consequences for continued behavior
- Temporary restrictions on community interactions
- Required acknowledgment of understanding
Level 3: Temporary Suspension
- Temporary ban from community interactions
- Removal of problematic content
- Required reflection period before returning
Level 4: Permanent Ban
- Permanent removal from the community
- Public notification when appropriate
- No opportunity for appeal in severe cases
10. APPEALS PROCESS
